Selecting a Data Set

Data Sets Tab
The Data Sets tab provides a list of data sets you can search against. You can select and search against one or more data sets at the same time. This tab also provides options for defining your area of interest before searching against data set inventories. You can obtain information about each of the data sets by clicking on the information icon next to each data set.

Spatial Coverage Options
The Spatial Coverage area provides you with three ways to define your area of interest before searching against data sets. It is not mandatory that you enter a spatial coverage before executing a search.

The three options are:
  1. Draw a point or polygon on the Reference Map
  2. Enter an address/place or path/row into the Address/Place control
  3. Enter Latitude and Longitude coordinates to the Area Selected control
Note: You cannot combine the three Spatial Coverage options.

Selecting Data Sets
To select a data set, click on a check box next to the data set name. You may select and search several data sets at the same time.

Using the Data Set Prefilter
The Data Set Prefilter is used to filter out any results that do not relate to your search criteria. Applying the prefilter narrows your results to include only those based on the area of interest, date range, and months selected on the Search Criteria tab. The prefilter does not guarantee results for the defined search criteria.

Additionally, you may still view any data sets that were hidden using the prefilter by clicking "Show" on the message indicating how many data sets were hidden by the prefilter.
